Zuri the Lioness | Houdini Groom Project

As part of my Master’s R&D studies 🎓, I explored African lion anatomy and fur properties in detail. Zuri became the practical outcome of that research.

The groom was created in just 3 days ⏳ using Houdini and rendered in Solaris/Mantra 🎨, with a strong focus on natural fur breakup and anatomical accuracy based on extensive real-world references.

The lion asset is Zeke the Lion, by Ziva Dynamics. Special thanks to Sara Hansen, her amazing grooming course made it much easier to pick this skill up again after more than a year away from grooming work.
